Beds in holes

If anyone's ever seen the movie "Help!” you can't but notice at the Beatles' house, John has a "sunken bed". I asked my mother about these kinds of beds and she said they were popular in the 1960s and 1970s, she said round beds were also popular, but they were hard to buy sheets for! Kind of like conversation pits, which I think were one of my earliest memories of going to a mall. Remember when they use to fountains in malls? I remember going to Hawaii and there being live goldfish in the fountains and there were signs that said "Pennies make us sick". I also remember the movie theater with whales painted on the side and I remember that the films "Thelma and Louise" and "Drop Dead Fred" were playing there and there was a water tower shaped like a pineapple!
